Police say driver damaged property

TRAVERSE CITY -- City police are asking for help in locating a pickup truck that allegedly damaged property and fled.

The truck's driver allegedly pulled the truck into a driveway Sunday near Maple and 15th Street, Traverse City police Capt. Steve Morgan said. The driver allegedly backed out and knocked a transformer from its foundation. Police say the truck headed north and hit a utility pole, then crashed into mailboxes en route to 15th Street.

The area lost power as a result of the incident.

The dark-colored truck looks similar to a Ford Ranger or a Chevrolet S-10, authorities said, with a plow frame in front and a bed cap in back. It likely will have front-end damage.

Anyone with knowledge of the truck or its driver should contact city police at (231) 995-5150.
