BEAR LAKE -- A Bear Lake man was critically injured in an alleged assault.
The man, 35, allegedly was assaulted in his home outside Bear Lake in Manistee County's Pleasanton Township on Monday evening, police said.
Benzie County deputies used a dog to track the suspect, a 54-year-old man from the Frankfort area, to a wooded site about a quarter-mile from the victim's house.
Police used a Taser to subdue the suspect, who allegedly resisted arrest. He was taken to the Manistee County Jail and is expected to be arraigned on felonious assault charges.
The victim suffered blunt force trauma to the head and was in critical condition at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City early Tuesday, said Sgt. Mark Miller from the Michigan State Police Manistee Post.
The victim and suspect knew each other, Miller said, adding that he did not have any definitive information on a possible weapon.
