MESICK -- A teacher who's under investigation for criminal sexual conduct "adamantly denies" engaging in inappropriate behavior with one of his students, police said.
The teacher is on paid suspension from Mesick Consolidated High School pending the outcome of a Wexford County Sheriff's Department investigation, Detective Trent Taylor said.
A female student approached school officials about an alleged incident at the school after school hours March 5 and Superintendent Dennis Stratton called police, Taylor said.
Taylor expects to wrap up his investigation within a week or so, he said.
"We have no reason to believe there are any other incidents of this nature that have occurred involving this teacher, and this one still has to be proved," he said.
Stratton did not return a call for comment Wednesday.
