The Northwest Michigan Youth Conservation Corps gives high school students an opportunity to earn minimun wage while doing environmental work. About 16 students started at the DeYoung Natural Area. Jake Busk, 17, of Traverse City, carries rocks to the river for a long-term plan to fix the water wheel for the DeYoung power house.
