Julius Kolarik is one of the beekeepers who has had trouble with bears. 'Last year I did not have any hives damaged by bears, but the year before I had 18 hives destroyed,' said Kolarik. The DNR may expand the bear hunting season to combat an increase in complaints in the area about beehive damage from 'nuisance bears.'
