A song in my heart
My alpaca angels. Whenever I’m feeling down and blue I drive by their peaceful pastures and park, get out and talk to them. It sure lifts my spirits to face the day and whatever comes my way.
I’m sure under their soft, soft fleece hide tiny, fluffy wings; they truly are heaven-sent.
I feel blessed to know that when my soul is sore a visit to Dave and Chris Nelson’s alpaca haven will heal the ache and send me on my way with a smile on my face and a song in my heart.

Reverse the decision
Kudos to Blair Township for the significant investment to redo Hoosier Valley Road. Kudos to all in Grand Traverse County Road Commission for taking Hoosier Valley from dirt to gravel from Beitner to Megan Lane. Kudos also to Elmer’s and all others that helped.
Thumbs down to Traverse City Area Public Schools for not giving our kids back the Megan Lane, Hoosier Valley bus stop (used since 2004) after this awesome effort. Superintendent Cousins, Chief Financial Officer Paul Soma and the school board say they won’t revisit their decision that stopped the bus from going just an extra 11/2 miles to the original stop. This 11/2-mile walk for our kids is on a desolate county road, past two gun ranges. Cars can go 55 mph here.
My one child is blind and has used a regular bus for years. Part of a gallon in diesel fuel for 11/2 miles and the extra minutes paid to drivers won’t make up TCAPS $1 million deficit. TCAPS should step up to the plate and reverse their decision.
