Rules violate the law

Mr. Doug Bishop, chairman of the Northwestern Michigan College board, has “put on hold until September” their new “campus expression policy” so as to clear up “public misunderstanding.”

I would assert that the misunderstanding resides within the college board — and not within the general public. The freedom to assemble and to speak cannot be limited to certain defined areas according to the Supreme Court, as it violates the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America. (A Pittsburgh College found this out in 2012.)

It is a lesson in civics — not a clarification from NMC that is needed here, and the new rules as written violate the law — regardless of how they are implemented.

I am old enough to be a certified cynic, and I would guess that September was picked as it falls one month after the NMC millage election in August.

As a taxpayer I shall not vote in favor of support of an institution that does not repeal this outlandish grab of control.

Send some to jail

If the latest scandals haven’t raised an eyebrow on every American citizen, I don’t know what will. Four innocent souls left to die in Bengazi for the sake of the political narrative and an election to be won, then freedom of speech being of issue with the Associated Press scandal. Now an IRS targeting of any who dare be conservatives worried about this country’s survival.

I have a slight feeling of what it may have been to be a Jew in Hitler’s Germany and with being a conservative in this country today. The sewage runs downhill no matter how many denials. Start impeachment and send some to jail now.
