Bay won't pay for gas

Enough is enough.

When will the general public and/or state officials start calling "foul" on the price of gas here in Traverse City?

The national average is $3.62 per gallon and we are always above that. Sometimes the price goes up over 40 cents in one day. Officials at one distributor have told me we should be 70 to 75 cents above the New York spot price on gas. If true, we should be at $3.45 per gallon, not $3.89 per gallon today.

Does anyone else think this is price gouging by distributors and station owners? Come on Traverse City, let's hear it. The beautiful bay will not pay for my gas year around.

A full-time official

Reelect Maxbauer. Christine Maxbauer has been a dynamo as county commissioner and deserves to be re-elected.

She's a full-time official in a part-time job, continually advocating for the good of her constituents.

In these tough economic times she's been in there pushing common-sense fiscal policy at every opportunity.

Her positions are thoroughly considered and well researched.

I can tell you she's definitely not afraid to stand up to the vested interests in local government.

Chris is a tell-it-like-it-is lady and deserves to be re-elected county commissioner of Grand Traverse County.

Candidate for probate

I have practiced law in Traverse City for 40 years.

During the last 15 years I have either practiced law with Kirsten L. Keilitz or before her as Circuit Court Family Division Referee.

I have had the honor of moving her admission to the Bar.

I told Judge Rodgers that Ms. Keilitz was principled, extremely competent, even-tempered, organized and diligent in all she did.

I am proud to say that my judgment was accurate.

Kirsten L. Keilitz is the best candidate for Grand Traverse County Probate Court Judge.
