---- — Adoption option

Adoption, what a wonderful option. I recently spoke to a friend who shared with me how grateful she was that her birth mother who could not raise her made the choice to give her the opportunity to be adopted by a loving family. What a gift of love. She is a beautiful person with a family that brings her joy. That wouldn’t have been possible without the gift of adoption. It is such a better choice than abortion.

Nearly 4,000 babies every day never have that choice. How sad.

Losing services isn’t a ‘good’ step

I read with interest an article in the Record-Eagle about the removal of phone lines in rural areas. Interesting, a federal government incentive/program brought electricity and phone service to rural areas way back. Now these same rural areas are against “Big Government.” Socialism, they call it.

Good, they’re going to lose their phone line service. Maybe if they lost their federal crop insurance and payments not to grow crops they might be more appreciative of “Big Government.” This same thinking allows them to believe they don’t need health insurance. ER rooms are free; let somebody with insurance pay the higher premiums to cover it. It’s only a matter of time with the exodus of people from rural areas to the metropolitan that they will lose their gerrymandered political power, too. Good!
