---- — Won’t control CEOs

Isn’t it interesting Obama wants to control as much of our lives as he can, but he won’t control the oil company CEOs on how much they can charge us at the gas pump?

Distorted payments

The Record-Eagle owes Commissioner Lautner an apology for the June 2 “hatchet job” article. The story distorts legitimate payments and reimbursements in an effort to make it seem like she is abusing this compensation.

Mileage reimbursements are not perks, just ask the IRS. Crop insurance is a legal government program to repay for lost crops. It is not compensation.

Should she receive health insurance or receive payment in lieu of the insurance? You criticize her for both.

The article only discourages good people from going into public service. I believe you owe Ms. Lautner an apology.

No permanent ban

The only criminal offenses for which a permanent ban on gun ownership should even be considered are treason against the United States and child molestation. For any other offense, the offenders should have their right to gun ownership restored after successful completion of any probation or parole requirements. Of course any recidivism should become a capital offense.
