---- — Just you wait and see
My thoughts lately have been about how lucky we are to live in America, and yet we fritter away our freedoms with seeming reckless abandon. There are so many places in the world, like Syria, where people are being killed for the blessings that we take for granted.
While this is going on, we sit in our cars, impatient with the person in front of us who took the handicap parking spot, and we have to waddle another 50 feet to get into the store.
God could have made me a rock, or an ant, but he made me a person with freedoms to write what I want, go where I want to, and enjoy a long and fruitful life. Do I appreciate that? Heck no. I am too busy wondering why the guy next to me is a liberal or a conservative or why the city isn’t fixing the potholes in the streets fast enough to suit me.
Perhaps I could change and become a better person? Tomorrow, when I get up, I promise to stop squandering my freedoms and become a better person, just you wait and see! This time I am going to do it, for sure.
