Traverse City Record-Eagle
---- — Attract best and brightest
Please vote "yes" for the Traverse City Area Public Schools bond proposals Nov. 5.
At the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce we are always working to attract and retain talent, which in turn ensures a vibrant business community. But to continue to attract the best and brightest we need schools with safe, modern facilities and updated technology.
Today’s talented young people will not relocate to Traverse City without a top-notch school system. The TCAPS bond proposals reflect a responsible plan to upgrade our schools’ aging physical and technology infrastructures - upgrades that are critically needed.
Vote "yes" for TCAPS.

A leader with vision
I am writing to urge citizens of Traverse City to vote for Pat McGuire for city commissioner.
In working with Pat I have found him to be fair, honest, transparent and accountable.
As Traverse City Light & Power chairman, Pat has overseen the co-location of a substation and an inter-utility community solar project between L&P and Cherryland Electric Cooperative. One is a first-ever project for our area and the other the first of its kind in the state. I believe it takes leadership and vision to do what has never been done. Pat is a leader with vision.

Worthy of a Pulitzer
It is without a doubt the funniest piece of journalism (if that’s what you call it) I have ever read. I almost spit my morning coffee out Sept. 12 when reading the article “How the Syria plan broke through, just in time.” I only wish that the author’s name would have been attached to the story instead of Associated Press. This was, indeed, a first runner for a Pulitzer for humor or satire. One would have thought that it was written by the POTUS (President of the United States) himself as he is a very funny fellow at playing president and now has put his Nobel Peace Prize to good use; maybe Putin can put a shine on it for him.
