Provides great service

I’d like to commend the Cadillac Wexford Transit Authority and its director, Vance Edwards, for their exemplary customer service and responsiveness. They provide a great example of how a transit authority should operate. Although I am a resident of Grand Traverse County, I witness first-hand the way that CWTA provides great service to residents of the community they serve.

Become the engineer

You are on a train, and it spans your entire life. In the engine room someone is driving the train, but we cannot see who it is because we have chosen to sit in the caboose and let other people and events drive the train.

The coal car is our appetite and self-perceptions, and it is loaded with things the “passengers” tell us will make us strong and smart. At least, that is what they say. How do we really know for sure? We sit quietly and fret about how other people aren’t doing a very good job of running our train.

Suddenly, something happens that forces us to pull the rope, stop the train, walk to the front, and take our rightful position as the engineer. This process is called growing up, and many of us never have to do that, because we live in America where everything is provided for us.

You can change the world, and millions of us together can make a better America. However that can only happen if we personally accept responsibility for our own life instead of focusing on fixing the other guy’s train and ignoring our own failures.
