Man passes out in Leelanau flower bed

TRAVERSE CITY — Leelanau County sheriff’s deputies made a disorderly person arrest after they found a man passed out in a flower bed.

Deputies were called to a home in Leelanau Township on Sept. 14 shortly after 2 a.m. on a report of an unknown man knocking on the door. Deputies found a Suttons Bay Township man, 30, asleep in the front yard and reported having a difficult time waking him. Deputies reported the man didn’t know where he was and could not stand.

He was arrested and placed in Leelanau County’s jail. Sheriff’s officials reported the man’s blood-alcohol level was 0.22 percent, or almost three times the limit for drunken driving.
