GRAWN — The Grand Traverse County prosecutor will review a fatal, four-vehicle crash in Garfield Township for potential charges.
Curtis John Prohaska, 33, of St. Johns, died Friday in Munson Medical Center, one day after his Jeep was struck at the Secor and West Silver Lake Road intersection. Grand Traverse County sheriff’s Capt. Dave Meachum said information on the crash will be forwarded to Prosecutor Bob Cooney in about a week.
“It’ll be presented to the prosecutor’s office as soon as we get done drafting the report,” he said.
Reconstructionists believe a Pontiac minivan driven east by Michael Wear, 23, of Beulah, struck Prohaska’s vehicle from behind and pushed it into a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Scott Wayne Bishop, 46, of Traverse City.
Prohaska’s vehicle traveled further into the intersection, where it finally was hit by a GMC Jimmy driven south by Alexis Marcine DeGabriele, 23, of Traverse City.
Meachum said investigators do not believe a mechanical problem led to the crash.
