TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim Bar Association recognized an Old Mission Peninsula resident for her extensive community service.
Donna Hornberger received the Association’s Liberty Bell Award on May 1.
The annual award is given to a non-attorney citizen with a track record of strengthening the “American system of freedom under law,” according to a press release.
Hornberger serves as president of the League of Women Voters Grand Traverse Area, president of the Peninsula Community Library Board of Directors and vice-president of the Third Level Crisis Intervention Center Board of Directors. She is a former president of the Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been so honored in my whole life,” Hornberger said.
