Driver in fatal crash identified

TRAVERSE CITY — Authorities identified a Grawn man killed in a crash on U.S. 31 as Charles William Bryan.

Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Department officials said Bryan, 77, was leaving the Pioneer Diesel parking lot in Blair Township when he collided with a pickup truck driven by a Grawn woman, 33, headed east.

“The deceased driver was at-fault. He failed to yield,” said sheriff’s Capt. Randy Fewless.

Bryan was pronounced dead at Munson Medical Center. His wife, Arlis Ann Bryan, also was in the car but did not sustain serious injuries.
