Man stomps on man's head outside Cadillac bar

CADILLAC — A Fife Lake man faces felonious assault charges after authorities say he stomped on another man’s head in a fight outside a Cadillac bar.

Josiah Thomas Hall, 24, was arrested about 15 hours after Cadillac police were dispatched to the Roaring 20’s Saloon early Thursday and found a 32-year-old Cadillac man with severe head injuries. Witnesses reported the victim on the sidewalk as the suspect jumped into the air and stomped on his head.

The victim was transported to Cadillac Mercy Hospital and transferred to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, where he is listed as critical but stable.

“It was a pretty heinous assault,” said Cadillac Police Lt. Todd Golnick. “We’re not sure what led to it. We’re still waiting for a statement from the victim.”

Cadillac police later arrested Hall in Lakefront Park. He was arraigned Friday in 84th District Court on felony charge of assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder. He also has a fourth offense habitual offender charge.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled July 16 at 1 p.m.
