TRAVERSE CITY — Michigan State Police arrested a Kalkaska County sheriff's deputy on three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a female prisoner of the county jail.
The former inmate told investigators she had sexual relations with the deputy while she was a prisoner in the jail in 2006. The incident allegedly occurred while the prisoner was being transported by the deputy.
The deputy was lodged in the Otsego County jail pending arraignment.
Kalkaska County Sheriff David Israel said he placed the deputy on unpaid suspension pending court proceedings.
