Parking lot disturbance results in 1 arrest

TRAVERSE CITY — Police arrested one man in a disturbance at a McDonald's parking lot.

City police went to the McDonald's on Front Street at about 11:45 p.m Friday for a report of a fight in the parking lot. About 12 people were in the lot, and when officers arrived, they saw one person restraining another.

The restrained man, 21, appeared drunk and was yelling profanities, police said. He continued to yell and cause a disturbance. He struggled with officers, who eventually had to pin him on the ground and arrest him.

Officers said they arrested the man for disorderly conduct after he ignored their repeated requests to calm down.

The man, who suffered a bloody nose in the incident, is expected to be charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
