Traverse City schools to close Jan. 21

TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City Area Public Schools are closed on Jan. 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The district scheduled several special events throughout January related to King's life and teachings.

The events include a Martin Luther King, Jr. assembly at the TCAPS International School at Bertha Vos on Jan. 22, and middle school students studying the Civil Rights Movement with an emphasis on King's role, today's world and what progress has been made.
