Snowmobiler rescued on South Lake Leelanau

SUTTONS BAY — A Traverse City man was rescued after his snowmobile fell through the ice on South Lake Leelanau.

The 41-year-old was found clinging to the edge of the ice when deputies and rescue personnel from Leland and Suttons Bay fire departments arrived on the scene at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday. The man was rescued and transported to Munson Medical Center.

The man is recovering at Munson. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor.
