GT deputies receive 35 accident reports

TRAVERSE CITY — This week's stormy weather played a role in Grand Traverse County receiving 35 accident reports from Monday into this morning.

Sheriff Thomas Bensley said the Sheriff's Department received a steady stream of accident reports as snowfall blanketed the area.

“Typically, people go to bed with no snow and they wake up and it comes over night,” Bensley said. “This was a little different; it started raining, got colder, then started to snow.”

The calls were placed between 5 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. this morning. No fatalities were reported.
