BEULAH — Authorities said an Interlochen man is charged with breaking into Jodi’s Tangled Antler Bar in Tuesday’s early morning hours, Benzie County Sheriff Ted Schendel said.
The owners of the bar were notified of a break in and called the sheriff’s office. They observed some damage and missing bottles and told authorities they suspected a local man, Charles Henry Arington, of the break-in. They said Arington had complained about the bar closing too early in the past, according to deputy reports.
Arington was arraigned on Wednesday and charged with breaking and entering into a building with intent to commit larceny. He faces up to ten years in jail.
He had not posted bond as of Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities accused the 59 year old man of breaking into the bar and taking several bottles of beer and a bottle of whiskey, Schendel said.
Authorities said they visited Arington’s house and observed a bottle of bourbon marked to indicate the cost of a shot. They also observed blood on his hands, and blood had been found in the bar, Schendel said.
