TRAVERSE CITY — Police said a Northwestern Michigan College student drove drunk through campus and lost control of his car, lodging the vehicle against a tree.
Traverse City Police Capt. Brian Heffner said a Marion man, 21, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of operating while intoxicated first offense. He said an investigation showed the man was driving west on College Drive when the car left the road, struck a tree and spun around to become lodged in another tree.
"His front tires were still off the ground," Heffner said.
Police were dispatched at 10:07 p.m. and issued the driver a ticket for speeding. The driver was later arrested after the investigation.
