From staff reports

TRAVERSE CITY — Police arrested a man who they accused of marijuana possession and concealing stolen property.

The man, 18, was pulled over Saturday after police said he ran a red light at the intersection of Front and Division streets at about 9 p.m.

Officers said they smelled burning marijuana as they approached the vehicle. A search revealed 23 grams of the drug and several items believed to be stolen from cars in the city and Grand Traverse County.

The items included laptop computers, digital cameras, seven GPS units and two paintball guns.

Traverse City police and the Grand Traverse County sheriff’s deputies are determining if any of the items have been listed as stolen in recent police reports.

Police identified the suspect as homeless, but said he stays in the Traverse City area.
