Four pets safe in house fire

TRAVERSE CITY — No animals were injured in a Garfield Township fire.

Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department crews responded a fire Thursday at 2:10 p.m. in the 4500 block of Buckhorn Drive. The homeowner found house full of smoke upon arriving home.

The fire was contained to a bathroom and was under control in 10 minutes. A news release states there were no injuries and four pets were found unharmed.

The cause is under investigation and appears to be unintentional.
