Two injured in Leelanau County crash

CEDAR — Two motorists remain hospitalized after a head-on crash in Leelanau County.

Dominic R. Crimi, 19, of Traverse City, and Jacqueline A. Gibler, 61, of Maple City, were both listed in fair condition at Munson Medical Center on Thursday, one day after their vehicles collided on a snowy Kasson Township road.

Authorities said Crimi was driving west on West Burdickville Road when he crossed the center line and struck Gibler’s vehicle that was heading east at 4:50 p.m. Blowing snow does not appear to be a factor in the crash, nor does excessive speed.

Both drivers wore safety belts and both vehicles’ airbags deployed. They sustained serious injuries and were transported to Munson by Cedar Fire and Rescue.
