Voters reject Elk Rapids schools bond proposal

Voters said "no" to an Elk Rapids Public Schools bond proposal for the second time in less than four months.

The school district's proposal was rejected today by a count of 1,425 "no" votes to 1,126 "yes" votes, according to unofficial election results from the Antrim County clerk's office.

Townships in the district were voting on a bond that would have paid for a new high school gymnasium, athletic facility updates and increased security. The tax bond failed to pass by a narrow margin on Nov. 5.
