Flights canceled at Cherry Capital Airport

TRAVERSE CITY — Bad weather in Chicago is wreaking havoc with flight schedules at Cherry Capital Airport.

Two inbound flights from Chicago and six outbound flights to Chicago were nixed as of about 10 a.m. today, according to the airport's website.

Airport Director Kevin Klein said heavy snowfall in Illinois' biggest city is to blame, but conditions there should improve by this afternoon or evening.

Klein said air travelers should check Cherry Capital's website or its new smartphone application for information about cancellations and delays.
