Phyllis Babel and Carol Frye identified several Boy Scouts pictured in the Monday, Oct. 17, History Center archive photo.
Babel said she recognized her husband and father-in-law in the photograph. She said her father-in-law, Augie Babel, is the man standing second from the far left in the back row. Her husband, Larry Babel, is the Boy Scout third from left in the row behind the seated Scouts. She also identified Pat Dockery as the Boy Scout standing next to her father-in-law. She said Jack Sheets is the boy standing directly in front of Dockery.
Babel also named Wally Sheckler as the scout slightly behind Larry Babel, and John Heiges as the scout next to Babel. She said the tallest boy in the center of the photo is Louie Culman. Babel also identified Allison Shumsky as the boy seated second from left in the front row.
Carol Frye also recognized her husband and father-in-law in the photo. Gary Frye is the scout standing directly behind Shumsky in the second row. She said her father-in-law, Clarence Frye, is the man standing far right in the back row.
