Public forum

LAKE CITY — Good Morning Lake City! continues on Friday, Sept. 20, at the Missaukee County EMS Building on First Street.

The public forum from 7-8 a.m. features between 14 and 16 speakers and includes a light breakfast. The cost is $2 per person; free for first-time visitors. For details, email margojacobs@charter.net or call 920-9201.

CHS class of '57 meets

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Central High School class of 1957 will meet for lunch from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Elks Club, 625 Bay St. All classmates are welcome.

Budgeting workshop

TRAVERSE CITY — The Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency will offer a workshop on budgeting as part of a series of six workshops on financial fitness.

Young Artist Showcase

TRAVERSE CITY — Chamber Music North is accepting applications for its Young Artist Showcase 2013-14.

The showcase is open to solo and ensemble instrumentalists and vocalists between the ages of 12 and 22, as of Feb. 7, 2014, who live in the Grand Traverse five-county region. Winners will perform at Chamber Music North's "At The Dennos Series" in May 2014.

Applications are available at www.cmnorth.org. Completed applications must be accompanied by a $25 application fee and postmarked by Feb. 7.
