Lyme support

TRAVERSE CITY — A Northern Michigan Lyme Disease Support Group meeting will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, Aug. 22, at Living Hope’s Chalet, 610 Three Mile Road.

Weekend exhibit

LELAND — The public is invited to a weekend exhibit of recent paintings by Leelanau artist David Grath.

A reception will be hosted from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at the Old Art Building. The exhibit continues on Saturday, Aug. 24.

Educator Day

THOMPSONVILLE — Michigan Legacy Art Park invites area teachers, administrators, parents and paraprofessionals to Educators Appreciation Day on Friday, Aug. 23.

The event will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Education Director Patricia Innis and Art Park artists will be on hand to introduce the “Looking to Learn” educational materials and artist-in-residence programs. Information on obtaining grants for field trips to the park also will be available and all attendees will receive educational materials.

Class of ‘58 potluck

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City High School class of 1958 will meet for a potluck on Saturday, Aug. 24.

Country Hoedown

TRAVERSE CITY — The Senior Center Network will host an end-of-summer Country Hoedown on Friday, Aug. 23.

The celebration will start at 7 p.m. at Twin Lakes Park on North Long Lake Road. A DJ will be playing country favorites and line dancing instructors will be on hand to teach several new steps. New this year is contra dancing. Regular line dancing starts at 8 p.m. and beginners are welcome.
