Suttons Bay — The inaugural YetiFest will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, in Suttons Bay.

Story hour on tap

Thompsonville — “Fractured Fairy Tales” is the theme for story hour from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Betsie Valley District Library, 14731 Thompson Ave. For details, call 378-2716.

Free movie night

Traverse City — Peninsula Bible Church, 430 Fair St., will host a free showing of “Courageous” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16. A community dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and movie snacks will be sold by the youth to raise money for Lake Ann Camp this summer.

Duet organ recital

Traverse City — Members of the Cherry Capital Area Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present a duet recital on Sunday, Feb. 17.

The concert, titled “Two by Two,” features a variety of music for combinations of keyboard instruments and vocalists. Adult and student members of the Guild and its friends will perform.

The concert starts at 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 6105 Center Road. The public 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Boardman River Nature Center, 1450 Cass Road. The public is invited. For details, visit www.natureiscalling.org.

Author signs book

Traverse City — Award-winning novelist Wendy Webb will sign her book “The Fate of Mercy Alban” Saturday, Feb. 23, at Horizon Books.

Dance Battle benefit

Traverse City — Northern Michigan dance crews will perform in a dance battle to benefit the American Cancer Society.

“Dance Battle 4 the Cure” will start at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at St. Francis High School 123 E. 11th St. The doors open at 5 p.m. NMC’s Mojo Stomp, Crystal Bindi Studios, Kimmy O Shimmy, the Dance Center’s Fresh Fusion and Fresh Fusion Extreme and others will perform in a choreography competition as well as in freestyle. DJ DomiNate will provide music.
