• Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City has been awarded the 2012 MH-65 Aviation Standardization Excellence Award for exemplary performance during their annual standardization evaluation held in September of 2012.

The MH-65 Standardization Excellence Award is each spring following the annual evaluation of each of the eighteen MH-65 Air Stations located around the country. The award is presented by Coast Guard Aviation Training Center located in Mobile, Ala.

The top units in each aviation community are selected to receive this recognition based on award criteria which includes pilot and crewmember flight performance, open and closed book exam scores, condition of training records, overall unit evaluation, and rescue swimmer physical training performance.
