EAST JORDAN — Martha Wagbo Farm & Education Center will host a “Feast & Film” community potluck and program on Saturday, Jan. 25.
The wild game/local food potluck will start at 6 p.m. at the education center, 5745 N. M-66, followed at 7 p.m. by a screening of the film “The Human Planet.” There is no charge and attendees need not bring a dish to pass.

TRAVERSE CITY — PEACE Ranch will sponsor an educational workshop on barefoot horse keeping.
The “Introduction to Barefoot Horse Keeping” workshop will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center. Christina Cline, a field instructor for Equine Sciences Academy and Pacific Hoof Care Practitioners, will discuss the crucial components for developing and maintaining healthy hooves.

Tree management plan
EMPIRE — Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Superintendent Dusty Shultz announced the the National Park Service will update its Hazard Tree Management Plan to include responses to current and imminent tree disease epidemics and will accept ideas and input from the public until Feb. 15.
Public comments may be submitted at the National Park Service’s Planning, Environment and Public Comment (PEPC) website, http://parkplanningnps.gov/projecthome.cfm?projectId=45319. Comments also may be mailed to Superintendent, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, 9922 Front St., Empire, MI 49630.
Comments will be evaluated and considered during the development of alternatives and analysis of their impacts contained in the Environmental Assessment (EA). When the EA is completed, the National Lakeshore will again seek public input. For details, visit www.nps.gov/slbe.
