Interlochen — Area senior citizens are invited to a Christmas lunch on Monday, Dec. 10. Reservations are due by 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7.
The event will start at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, U.S. 31 and Rogers Road, with chair exercises. Lunch at noon will be followed by fellowship and games. Lunch is $3. Seniors also are welcome to bring a sack lunch. Activities are free.

Holiday dance show
Traverse City — The Dance Center Inc. of Traverse City and Kalkaska will present its sixth Holiday Show on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Performances are at 2 and 7 p.m. in Milliken Auditorium, at Northwestern Michigan College. The show features students from The Dance Center programs in Traverse City and Kalkaska, Ballet Virtuoso Performance Group, Fresh Fusion and Fresh Fusion Extreme Contemporary Dance Teams. In addition, the Cherry Capital Men's Chorus and Traverse City Central High School Choral-aires Quartet will perform classic Christmas favorites.

On the 'Back Porch'
Charlevoix — The Back Porch Coffeehouse will have a new format for its holiday music event.
Music will start at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Charlevoix Senior Center on the corner of Carpenter and Norwood streets. There will be a central microphone and speakers. Musicians and poets are welcome to take turns performing or leading songs and poems with "jam time" toward the end of the evening. There also will be crafts for children and refreshments.
Donations at the door are appreciated and go to future scheduled performers. Suggested donations are $5 per person or $10 per family. Cookie donations also are welcome and a donation jar will be available for a fund to purchase a sound system for the Coffeehouse Series.
Suttons Bay — The Michigan Peace Team, in collaboration with Neahtawanta Education and Research Center, will sponsor a peace event on Sunday, Dec. 9, at Ciccone Vineyard & Winery, 10343 E. Hilltop Road.
A wine and cheese reception from 2 to 3 p.m. will be followed by a program from 3 to 5 p.m. The theme is "We All Care Deeply." Presenters are Peter Dougherty, founder and outreach coordinator of Michigan Peace Team, and Anabel Dwyer, a Michigan attorney who works primarily on the illegality of nuclear weapons.
The cost is $20 for adults; $15 for students and senior citizens.

Eastport — The Upper Torch Lake Association invites all area residents to a holiday party on Monday, Dec. 10.
The party starts at 6 p.m. at the Torch Lake Township Community Services Building on U.S. 31. There will be music by Jeff Woolsey and attendees are asked to bring their own beverage and an appetizer to share along with a list of its ingredients. A donation of $5 per person is requested to cover expenses.
