Holiday ornament workshop
TRAVERSE CITY — Local artist Jacqueline Southby will lead a holiday ornament workshop on Thursday, Dec. 5, at the East Bay Branch Library, 1989 Three Mile Road.

TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Traverse Academy’s choirs and bands will perform concerts featuring holiday music.
The High School Symphonic, Varsity, Concert and Jr. High Cadet bands perform at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. The school’s elementary and secondary choirs take the stage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Both concerts will be held in the school’s main gym, 1245 Hammond Road. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
INTERLOCHEN — The Community of Interlochen will host a free Children’s Christmas Party on Friday, Dec. 6.
The evening will start with a tree lighting at 5 p.m. at Tom’s Food Market on M-137. Families then can follow Santa Claus to the Interlochen Public Library, 9700 Riley Road, where a party will be hosted from 5:35-8 p.m. There will be visits with Santa Claus, a holiday craft project, music and Christmas caroling, a holiday story and refreshments.

Glass Mosaic Gallery open
TRAVERSE CITY — A Christmas open house will be hosted from 2-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Glass Mosaic Gallery, 610 Pine St. It will feature glass mosaic artist Brian Strickland and guest artist Karen Denolf. The public is welcome; 941-5037.

Sugar Plum Tea
PETOSKEY — Principal performers from the Crooked Tree Arts Center’s School of Ballet production of “The Nutcracker” will make appearances at the Sugar Plum Fairy Tea on Saturday, Dec. 7.
The tea will be hosted at 11:30 a.m. at the 1911 Restaurant inside the Terrace Inn. Tickets for the tea also include two tickets to “The Nutcracker” performance of choice, a professional photo with the Sugar Plum Fairy, a string quintet performance and a take-home treat.

Wellington Inn seasonal tours
TRAVERSE CITY — The “Inn at Christmastime” will feature tours of the historic, restored Wellington Inn.
The 1905 neoclassical mansion on the corner of Washington and Wellington Streets will be decorated for the holidays and open to the public from 1-5 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 8 and 15. Complimentary holiday sweets and hot mulled cider will be served in the third-floor ballroom.

TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse Musicale will host its holiday music program on Thursday, Dec. 12.
The event opens with a holiday bazaar at 12:15 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 6105 Center Road. The West Senior High School Orchestra and scholarship performers Sage and Veyda DeArgo-Ruopp will perform at 1 p.m. Tea in the Fireside Room will follow the concert.
The program is free and open to the public. Donations to the Grand Traverse Musicale Scholarship Fund are appreciated.
Church hosts concert
BEAR LAKE — Bear Lake Christian Church, 221 Bear Lake Road, will host a concert by Stephen and Joshua Forester.
The duo, known for their Southern gospel music, stand-up comedy, puppets and Kids Crusades, will perform at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, Dec. 8. Everyone is welcome.
Beers and Hymns
TRAVERSE CITY — The next Beers and Hymns event will be a Christmas Carol Celebration.
