Stories, crafts

TRAVERSE CITY — Children of all ages are invited to the East Bay Branch Library, Saturday, Nov. 23, for Thanksgiving stories and crafts.

The free event will start at 1:30 p.m. at the library, 1989 Three Mile Road. It will feature the story “Ox-Cart Man” by Donald Hall, seasonal stories and a turkey centerpiece craft project. Call 922-2085 to learn more.

School musical

BENZONIA — The Benzie Central School sixth-grade students will stage the musical “Fiddler on the Roof Jr.” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the Benzie Central Auditorium on Homestead Road. Tickets are $2 for adults and $1 for students.

Clean Water group

SUTTONS BAY — Leelanau Clean Water will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Leelanau County Government Center, 8527 E. Government Center Drive. The public is invited. For details, call 256-9812.

Int’l Affairs

TRAVERSE CITY — Dr. Robert Rehak, cultural attache of the Czech Embassy in Washington, D.C., will be the guest speaker at the Thursday, Nov. 21, International Affairs Forum.

A reception at 5:15 p.m. will be followed by the forum at 6 p.m. in Milliken Auditorium at the Dennos Museum Center, 1410 College Drive. Dr. Rehak will speak on “The Czech Nation: From Nazi and Communist Oppression to Democracy.”

Black Friday Fun

TRAVERSE CITY — The Dennos Museum Center will offer a “Black Friday Fun Day” on Friday, Nov. 29.

The event from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. includes a scavenger hunt of the museum in conjunction with the “Art of the Sleeping Bear Dunes” exhibit. Children 16 and younger receive a special prize for completing the scavenger hunt.
