Organic holiday

TRAVERSE CITY — Oryana Natural Foods Market will offer fresh Duerksen turkeys starting Saturday, Nov. 23, and offers other natural dishes for the Thanksgiving holiday prepared by its Lake St. Cafe.

Oryana will provide tastings and samples during business hours from Monday, Nov. 25, through Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the store, 260 E. 10th St. Complete menus and additional event and sale information is available at No turkey pre-orders are needed. Onekama Christmas

ONEKAMA — The Christmas season starts Saturday, Nov. 23, in Onekama.

Holiday activities from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. include an arts and crafts show, a chili cook-off from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Onekama Originals bidding on decorated trees 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and the Celebration of Lights at 6 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Portage Lake Association. For details, visit

Service, potluck

TRAVERSE CITY — Unity of Traverse City invites the community to a Communion Service and Thanksgiving potluck on Sunday, Nov. 23.

Dinner, author

TRAVERSE CITY — MidEast: JustPeace and the Episcopal Peace Fellowship of Grace Episcopal Church will host a potluck dinner and an evening with Josh Ruebner, author of “Shattered Hopes: Obama’s Failure to Broker Israeli-Palestinian Peace.”

The meal will start at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Grace Episcopal Church, 341 Washington St. Ruebner’s program starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
