Interlochen changes

INTERLOCHEN — Because of unforeseen circumstances, Dwight Yoakam and the Luna Negra Dance Theater have cancelled their shows at Interlochen Center for the Arts.

Yoakam was scheduled to perform July 11, and the Luna Negra Dance Theater was scheduled for July 10. Patrons who purchased tickets with a credit card to either of these events will automatically receive a credit to their card. Cash and check orders will be refunded in the mail. All refunds will be issued within the next two weeks.

Author program

WILLIAMSBURG — Northern Michigan author Patricia Batta will give a program on Thursday, May 23, as part of the Hope Village Life Enrichment Lecture Series.

Batta is the author of the Marge Christensen Mystery Series. The program starts at 3:30 p.m. at Hope Village, 4354 Mt. Hope Road. It is free and open to the public. For details, call 938-4673.

 

SEEDS fashion show

KALKASKA — Students in the Kalkaska Middle School SEEDS After School program will host a Thrift Shop Fashion Show on Friday, May 24. The community is welcome.

Students have chosen a theme for which to shop and will model their thrift shop outfits in a 4:30 to 6 p.m. fashion show at the school. A spaghetti dinner will close the event. For details or if planning to attend, call 357-6896 or email jana@ecoseeds.org.

iPhone class

SUTTONS BAY — The Friendship Community Center will offer an “iPhone Essentials” class on Thursday, May 23.

The class will meet from 1 to 4 p.m. at the community center, 201 Broadway. This is a hands-on class and attendees should bring their phones.

Sale helps pet rescue

CENTRAL LAKE — With A Little Help From My Friends will hold their 10th annual garage sale on Saturday, May 25, at Carpet Barn, 1875 S. Main St.
