NORTHPORT — Grand Medicine Chief of the Three Fires Midewiwin Lodge, Anishnabek Grand Chief Edward Benton-Banai will be the guest speaker at the Belko Peace Lecture Series on Saturday, May 18.
Chief Banai is Dean of Shingwaluk Kinoomaage Gamig of Algoma University in Canada, which he founded. He will share his thoughts on the Mediwiwin Lodge and spirituality at 3 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ,103 N. Warren St. A questions and answer session and a meal will follow. Native plant sale
TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse Conservation District will hold its annual Native Plant Sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 18, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the Boardman River Nature Center, 1450 Cass Road.
