Buff up Boyne City

BOYNE CITY — Boyne City’s annual community-wide spring clean up will be held 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 4.

Volunteers will sweep, pick up trash and rake debris from city sidewalks, parks, alleys and along the waterfront. They should bring their own rakes, shovels and brooms. Gloves and trash bags will be provided, along with morning refreshments and lunch at noon.

Volunteers should meet at Sunset Park to sign up and receive instructions. For details, contact the Main Street office, 582-9009 or mainstreet@boynecity.com.

Peepers program

TRAVERSE CITY — The Peepers preschool program for children ages 3 to 5 with an adult continues through May.

The program is held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Boardman River Nature Center, 1450 Cass Road. Both indoor and outdoor activities are included and participants should dress for the weather. May topics include: “Fancy Fliers: Dragonflies and Butterflies” May 7; “Jump into Grasshoppers” May 14; and “Discovery Garden” May 21.
