'Peepers' program

Traverse City — Boardman River Nature Center's Peepers Preschool Program is underway.

The program for parents and their children ages 3-5 meets from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the nature center, 1450 Cass Road. Each session features stories, crafts, music and outdoor activities. Adults and children should come dressed for the weather.

Benzie Homecoming

Beulah — The community is invited to a Homecoming Celebration picnic and bonfire on Friday, Sept. 28, to benefit the Benzie Gridiron Club.

The celebration will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m., rain or shine, under the pavilion at the park in Beulah. The bonfire will be lit about 7:30 p.m. on the beach.

Tickets are $10 each; $30 for a family of four. They are available from Gridiron Club members, at L'Chayim Deli, home football games or Pound Family Dentistry. Call 871-0601 or visit for details.

Craft show vendors

Traverse City — Vendor space is still available for the TCTA Bus Driver Craft Show.

Show hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Traverse Heights Elementary School, 933 Rose St. Lunch will be available and a silent auction will take place.

Interested vendors should call 263-7558. Proceeds provide scholarships for one student from each of TCAP's three high schools.

Benzie book fair

Benzonia — Benzie Central Middle School's Book Fair will be held Friday, Sept. 28, through Oct. 4, at the school 9300 Homestead Road.

Traverse City — The Pathfinder School invites the community to its 40th birthday bash.
