Traverse City — Grand Traverse area residents with gastroesophageal reflux now have an alternative to daily medications used to treat chronic heartburn.
An incisionless surgical solution is being offered by Munson Medical Center general surgeon Michael Nizzi, DO. He will discuss the transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) procedure from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in Munson Medical Center Conference Rooms 1-3.

Traverse City — Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1050 Peninsula Dr., has a number of activities planned to guide people on their spiritual journey to Christmas.
The church women will serve an Advent Luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. Reservations are needed by Monday, Nov. 26. There will be Christmas music by the Celtic group Evergreen and a Christmas Carol sing-along. Lunch is $7 per person. For reservations or details, call 938-2071.
On Wednesdays, there will be a soup supper at 6 p.m., family activities at 6:30 p.m., and worship at 7 p.m. The Nov. 28 activity will be Advent wreaths. On Dec. 5, attendees will make Crismons, Christian-centered ornaments, and frost cookies to take to shut-ins. On Dec. 12 and 19, participants will make Crismons to take home.
Traverse City — The Rev. Charlotte Seager, of The Healing Place in Northport, will offer a vibrational frequency healing workshop.
The 3-4 p.m. experiential workshop will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Peaceful Heart Center, 4148 Supply Road. It will include a lecture, discussion and instruction on an emotional release procedure using Young Living Essential Oils.

Ecology of wellness
Traverse City — Sharon Olson, Ph.D., GNP, will give a program on Thursday, Nov. 29, based on her book "The Ecology of Wellness for Nurses — A Personal and Professional Resource."
The 7-8:30 p.m. program will be held at the Traverse Area District Library, 610 Woodmere Ave. Olson will give an overview of an ecological model for nurses encouraging meaningful insights and understanding for what it means to be a healing presence for both self and others. Nurses, nursing students and nursing faculty will receive a free copy of her book.
Skin cancer lecture
Traverse City — Dr. Brian Nickoloff, a professor from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, will give a free lecture on skin cancer at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, in conference room 1-3 at Munson Medical Center, 1105 Sixth St.
