Sally Hanley from the Grand Traverse Baby Pantry wrote to ask the Record-Eagle to pass along their gratitude to the community for its generosity.

Sally wrote that the diaper drive was a great success and the pantry received more than 220 packages of diapers and $165 in cash donations. She also would like to thank the donation drop sites, including The Presbyterian Church, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Francis Church, Tom’s Food Markets, Oleson’s Food Stores, the Family Fare store on East Eighth Street, and Small Wonders Consignment and Re-Sale.

Christine O’Connell, president of Charity Hill Ranch in Rapid City, wrote to convey a heartfelt thank-you to all the sponsors, volunteers, attendees and supporters who helped make the 2014 Kentucky Derby Horses for Heroes serving Wounded Veterans event a huge success.

“Proceeds raised will help support our Horses for Heroes Veterans Outreach program that offers equine assisted activities, which support physical, social, cognitive and emotional needs, all at no charge to our wounded warriors,” Christine wrote. “Your support will go a long way in helping the local wounded veterans.”

Bill Marsh Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Traverse City helped raise $3,600 for Traverse City West Senior High School with a Dodge Booster Club fundraiser in April.

The fundraiser was held during parent-teacher conferences at the school and Dodge made a $20 donation to the school on behalf of each person who took a short test drive in 2014 model Dodge brand vehicles. If you do the math, that means that 180 people supported the school by taking test drives.

Money raised will help support extracurricular activities and clubs that are necessary for students to become well-rounded members of society.
