Bike-In movie series

TRAVERSE CITY — Bike In TC’s Movies in the Park summer film series kicks off Saturday with “The Goonies.”

The 1985 movie will be shown at dusk at F&M Park on Railroad Avenue. Pre-movie trivia starts at 9:30 p.m. and attendees should bring their own blankets for seating. Admission is free.

Trillium Garden Club

TRAVERSE CITY — Interested individuals are invited to join members of the Trillium Garden Club for lunch and a tour of the Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park.

Conversation with notable women

GLEN ARBOR — The Leelanau Independent Women for democratic Action will host a conversation with three Leelanau County women who have made significant contributions to the civic life of the county.

The event will start at 4 p.m. June 10 at the Leelanau School. The discussion features Betsy Johnson, Mary Tonneberger and Vina Mikesell, who will share their journeys, accomplishments and hopes for the future. Call 642-1391 to learn more.

Glass bug workshop

TRAVERSE CITY — Scrap TC and glass artist Deb Coburn will offer a “Build a Bug” fused glass workshop on June 10.

The workshop will meet from 6-8 p.m. at Scrap TC, 821 Garfield Ave., in the Garfield Centre Plaza.

The cost is $6 per bug. No registration is required and participants are asked to arrive by 5:45 p.m.

Bugs will be fired in Coburn’s kiln and returned to Scrap TC for pick up the following week.

SEEDS workshops

TRAVERSE CITY — SEEDS, a nonprofit organization formed to foster local solutions to global issues, will offer two garden workshops.
