Leelanau Artists exhibit

LELAND — The Leelanau Artists at the Old Art Building’s 14th annual exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, June 6.

The exhibit represents the work of the Leelanau Artists, an affiliate group of the Leelanau Community Cultural Center. Group members meet weekly to paint at the Old Art Building.

The reception will be hosted from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Old Art Building, 111 Main St. The exhibit continues from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, June 7, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, June 8. The public is invited.

‘Treasure Island’ on stage

TRAVERSE CITY — The Old Town Playhouse Young Company will stage “Treasure Island,” adapted from the book by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 6-7; and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at the Old Town Playhouse, 148 E. Eighth St. Tickets are $11 for adults and $6 for children 12 and younger. MHA boat auction

TRAVERSE CITY — The Maritime Heritage Alliance will hold its 28th annual boat auction and nautical-themed garage sale on Saturday, June 7.

The fundraiser will be held at the MHA, 13268 S. West Bay Shore Dr. The auction preview starts at 9 a.m. and bidding opens at 11 a.m.

Adams Fly Festival

KINGSLEY — The Adams Fly Festival will be hosted Saturday, June 7, at the Kingsley Library and adjacent Brownson Memorial Park, 213 S. Brownson.

Activities from noon to 6 p.m. include an original Adams Fly and informational exhibits, a fly tying demonstration, guided bus tours to Mayfield Pond at 1:30 and 3 p.m., live and silent auctions and a microbrew tent with admission ticket of $20. Special guests include master fly rod craftsman Bob Summers, local fly fishing author Bob Linsenman, and Jon Osborn, the author of “Classic MI Flies.”
