The walks are about three to four miles in length and start at 11 a.m. They will be held May 22 and June 12 at Hickory Meadows/Hickory Hills at the end of Randolph Street; May 29 and June 19 at the Vasa Pathway on Bartlett Road; and June 5 and 26 at Mission Point Lighthouse, M-37. Participants should meet at the parking lots for each venue.

St. Mary Quilt Sale-Show-Raffle

LAKE LEELANAU — The annual St. Mary Quilt Sale-Show-Raffle will be hosted at the St. Mary Church social hall, 307 S. St. Mary St.

More than 50 quilts will be on display and available to purchase from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, May 24, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, May 25. The raffle features a quilt titled “Trip Around the World” created by Eunice Linguar. The drawing will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. They are available at the St. Mary School Development office, 256-9670, by emailing pkorson@stmarysll.org, and at the event. All quilt sale and raffle ticket proceeds benefit St. Mary Parish and School.

Young filmmakers sought for festival

LELAND — Entries will be accepted until June 1 for the second Young Michigan Filmmakers Festival.

Filmmakers must be 24 years old or younger, currently live in Michigan and films cannot exceed 30 minutes in length. There is no entry fee and films may be submitted by YouTube, Vimeo or on a DVD. A panel of six jurors will screen the submitted films and trim down the presentation to approximately three and a half hours for a screening on Saturday, July 5, at the Old Art Building.
