Ovation concerts on Saturday, May 10, feature students ages 6 and older and start at 1 and 6:30 p.m. The Encore Concert will be presented at 1 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 11. Tickets for the Ovation and Encore concerts are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

All concerts will be staged in Milliken Auditorium at the Dennos Museum Center, 1410 College Dr. Tickets are available at the Dance Center, 225 E. 14th St., or by calling 947-6820.

Mother's Day Dinner

KINGSLEY — Rainbow of Hope Farm will host a Mother's Day Dinner on Sunday, May 11.

The event will be held from noon-3 p.m., rain or shine, at the farm, 1951 County Line Road. It includes a buffet dinner, an outdoor petting zoo, and a selection of hanging plants for sale in the greenhouse. The meal is $9 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-10 and free for children ages 5 and younger. Volunteers also are needed to help during the event.

Benzie genealogists

BENZONIA — The Benzie Area Genealogical Society will meet Wednesday, May 14, at the Benzie Area Historical Museum, 6941 Traverse Ave.

The meeting starts at 2 p.m. Lin Meeker will introduce new technology including uses for Snag-It, Evernote, digitizing slides, and Schrivener. She also will give an update on the Naitonal Genealogical Society Conference. Handouts will be available.

Garlic mustard hunts

TRAVERSE CITY — The Invasive Species Network will sponsor work bees to remove invasive garlic mustard from natural areas. Oryana Natural Foods Market's Lake Street Kitchens also will cater free garlic mustard-themed meals for all work bee participants.

The Manistee County Great Garlic Mustard Hunt takes place from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 10, with lunch at noon. Participants should meet at Manistee United Methodist Church 387 First St. They will be removing garlic mustard from the Magoon Creek Natural Area.
